Meet "Dakota"
Our thanks to Jenni Blackman
for sharing these great photos!
|
|
|
|
|
  |
|
Dakota loves the girls at Avondale! Here she
is at a checkup appointment, playing in the grass before her surgery
– she’s excited to do this again, and on the first day home after
surgery. I can’t say enough praise and thanks for the wonderful
staff! |

Meet "Shasta"
Our thanks to Deb & Ron Bauer
for sharing this terrific photo!
|
|
Shasta extends a big thanks to Dr. Beasley and all the staff for the
wonderful care given to her the first part of June 2011!
Thanks to them she is now not only walking across her yard, she is
doing her Shasta happy dog run! You are all the best! |

Meet "Boots"
|
|
 |
|
 |
|
Boots
("Bootsie") with his caregiver, Terry, at C& W Rustic Hollow
Shelter. These are of Boots before going to Avondale for
needed back surgery. He is a
resident of our cage-free special needs feline sanctuary at Nashua,
IA.

These photos are of Boots
(Bootsie), who returned to his home March 25th at C & W Rustic
Hollow Shelter from a two week stay at Avondale Cat Hospital after
suffering a back injury. The photos are of his
continuing daily therapy. We are pleased to say that we see a
little improvement each week -- small improvements, but we are
encouraged. Boots has one more week of his laser therapy at
the Garner Veterinary Clinic in Garner, Iowa, but his daily rehab
and therapy sessions will continue for a long time.

Meet "Duke" & "Eddie"
|
|
 |
|
This
is Duke, a hairless Chinese Crested, and Eddie, the cat. Duke is 3
years old and we drove to Noblesville, IN 18 months ago, where he
was in a foster home, to adopt him. We adopted Eddie (or maybe Duke
adopted him?) on New Year's Day of this year. Eddie was also a
rescue cat. Duke loves the dog treats he gets at Avondale when he
has to get his nails trimmed. We have to keep a close eye on Eddie
when he's on their exam table, because he likes to bat the items off
the counter!
Our thanks to Melanie Wenzel
for this great photo!

Our thanks to Maria Cardenas for sharing this sweet photo!

Meet "Marmalade"
|
|
  |
|
Our
names are Dean and Denise Smith and we recently went to Avondale due
to a terrible accident with our outdoor Cat, Marmalade. He is a 3
year old Tabby and extremely friendly, but he got his front left paw
caught in a trap, and Dr. Beasley who took him in and gave him all
the love and attention had to finally amputate his front leg. He is
doing GREAT now at home with our other 2 cats--one a Siamese and the
other a Tabby cat. He is an amazing cat and I can't believe the
things he can do on 3 legs. We love his so and are so grateful for
the staff at Avondale and the Vets that took care of him. We just
wanted to send the photos in so Dr. Beasley can see his progress and
other cat owners will know that a tripod kitty can survive and
flourish with the love and care of a family. Thanks again
Avondale--You’re the Best!!!
Our thanks to Dean & Denise Smith
for these wonderful photos!

Meet "Kubla Khan"
|
|
 |
|
Kubla Khan came to us as a tiny bug-ridden farm
kitten hiding under a lawn mower in the early summer of 2008.
He's been the absolute light of our lives since then. Easily
the smartest cat in the household, he maintains "boss" status with
some seriously cool composure.
Our thanks to
Alicia Elifritz & Daniel DeVore
for this great photo!

|
Meet "Princess Zoe"
|
|
 |
|
Here is our beautiful princess Zoe. We
love her and she loves the staff at Avondale.
Zoe says, “I especially love Dr. Wooduff
who makes my visits fun, but always warns my parents not to feed
me Dairy Queen.”

Our thanks to John for sharing this sweet photo!

Meet Charlie

Charlie just started visiting
Avondale, and gets SO much attention when he walks through the
door! He’s a 3 month-old Cairn terrier, and is definitely a little
“ladies’ man”.
Our
thanks to Erica Pint Hayen for these
precious photos!
Meet Fern

Fern is
a little over a week old, and was abandoned by her mother. I felt
that I had no choice but to take care of her (5/20/10). She is now
opening her eyes, and is as active as can be. She is very vocal and
she is such a sweetheart. The first picture is of Fern on
5/21/10, the morning after I got her. She wanted so badly to get
out of that basket. The second picture is of Fern on 5/25/10
using the bottle for one of the first times. She is quite an eater.
Special thanks to Avondale Vet for helping me raise this little
one. The doctors have guided me through the process of raising this
little sweetheart.
Our
thanks to Michael W. Meyer for these
precious photos!
Meet Leila

This is Leila, my Persian
kitten. She is only 3 months old.
Our
thanks to Dylan Gemelli for these sweet photos!
Meet Bud

The first photo is Bud from 3 years ago. And next is Bud recuperating on
his
very own towel, after the his rabbit/van accident.
